This collar is a great complement to your protection and can be used alone, but also under a cuirass. Historically, it prevented stabs to the throat and abrasions from armor. Originally fastened at the neck.
Our modern version allows fastening both on the neck from the front and anywhere else.
Nowadays it can be used for reenactments, recreating medieval fencing treaties, as a protection against armor abrasion or as a decoration.
