A woolen gambeson has been a hit in bohurt for some time already. The use of wool allows better drainage of water from the fighting body. It is also characterized by better thermal activity than, for example, cotton or linen.
Our gambesons are very well thought-out in their construction - they have additional reinforcements, such as an additional manual seam in the sleeve - most people sew the sleeve by machine and due to the specificity of our sport, sooner or later such a seam will break. This is why we use this type of reinforcement when we sew our gambesons.
Construction of gambeson contains thicker filling in such sensitive places as the buttocks, shoulders, elbows or hips.
What makes pourpoint different from other gambesons?
First of all, their armpits are inset deeply. It’s a difficult technique, today almost forgotten. It provides way better mobility – raising your arms does not make your whole gambeson rise as well, its body stays in place. Producers like to forge this effect visually. Don’t get tricked – always ask about how deeply is the pit inset!
