Typology
Blade: type 3c, "James Elmslie, 2015 single edged typology”
Pommel: type H, “Ewart Oakeshott, 1960 blade, guard and pommel Typology”
Handguard: type 7, “Ewart Oakeshott, 1960 blade, guard and pommel Typology”
Construction
The blade is crafted from hardened spring steel and has a fuller. The handguard and pommel are mounted in such a way as to minimize their loosening and possibility of cracking of the handle. The appearance and mounting technology of the pommel, on the other hand, are made in accordance with historical sources and relics. It is hot forged.
The tang is firstly covered with a wooden base, to create the right shape of the handle. On top it is wet-stitched with natural cowhide leather - so it wraps the handle perfectly. We also used a special technique of leather stamping and a ring in the center of the handle. As a result, the weapon fits perfectly in the hand and does not move during use. The grip becomes firm and comfortable which is extremely valuable in grappling and delivering accurate blows into the gaps of the opponent's armor!
